Does Pueblo need 2 soccer clubs in Pueblo? NO !
We normally do not approve anonymous comments to this site as anonymous comments are the work of cowards who are afraid to attach their names to their comments but we will make an exception this time to address the comments. " We are the standard in the community" No you are not! The reason that the Pueblo Rangers started a recreational league in the first place was do to dissatisfaction that teams had with PSSA and begged us to start a recreational league. "When PSSA and the Belomont Optimist Club started the Pueblo Rangers". FALSE! The Pueblo Rangers were created by a group of soccer parents because the Belmont Optimist Club and PSSA would not entertain the proposal of letting any of their teams go competitive. The Pueblo Rangers were started in 1982 which, if my math is correct, means that the Pueblo Ranger have been the standard in competitive soccer in Pueblo for 28 years. Although it is true that the Pueblo Corinthians include Pueblo, volunteers and paid staff, the organization is still a subsidiary of the Corinthianas Soccer Club which according to Colorado Youth Soccer (CYS) is a Colorado Springs soccer club. There is no Pueblo Corinthians registered with CYS. The web site with a link for Pueblo Soccer is a hyper link on www.corinthianssoccer.com. There is no Pueblo Corinthians Soccer club registered as a non profit or with the sate of Colorado. The Pueblo Corinthians are owned by the Corinthians Soccer Club in Colorado Springs and your Executive Director is Flavio Mazzetti of Colorado Springs. The Pueblo Corinthians are a branch of a Colorado Spring soccer club. Not a Pueblo soccer club. These are FACTS. Look them up. The Pueblo Rangers have grown from 1/4 the size of PSSA to 3 times the size of the Pueblo Corinthians. Wonder why. May be a better product from a Pueblo soccer club. So what about the teams that don't wanna play with the rangers? what is out there for them. Pueblo does need two soccer clubs.
Chances of this being posted is probably slim to non but worth a shot. Just like teams leave Corinthians and joins the rangers their are those teams that do the same with the rangers. I have been in cities where recreation clubs played against one and other, but not here.
To me it is about getting kids to play soccer and educate them on the game, not about the clubs in general. We all want are kids to be great, Rangers have some good coaches and Corinthians have some good coaches. To bash on one another is not right. I have coached for many years and encourage my kids to try out for both teams to see where the better fit is. I dislike all the negative stuff that is said, because to me its not about the kids. Why can't we co-exist and play each other?
